FDA OK’s Joimax Navigation tracking for Spinal Surgery

FDA has cleared a Joimax PMA for its Intracs, an electromagnetic navigation tracking and control system, which the company says allows spinal procedures to be carried out with minimal X-ray control. Joimax says all of the device's instruments and scopes can be tracked and navigated with sensors, “which improves safety, expands endoscopic indications, and flattens the learning curve.” Using navigation, instruments are tracked directly at the tip, and therefore the bending of needles or other slightly flexible instruments will not affect the precision of the navigation, it says.

Joimax says the Intracs Navigation System can be integrated in its Endoscopic Tower or used as a stand-alone solution. It features a medical grade computer with a 22-inch touch display.
