# FDA OKs NeoChord Study in Mitral Valve Regurgitation

FDA has approved a NeoChord, Inc. IDE to begin a clinical study of its artificial chordae delivery system, DS1000, a trans-apical beating heart procedure for replacing ruptured or elongated chordae in patients with degenerative mitral valve regurgitation. The company says it is the first U.S. study of its kind, that will take place at 20 U.S. mitral valve repair centers to establish the safety and efficacy of the DS1000 System as an alternative to standard surgical mitral valve repair.
