# FDA OKs Roche HPV Self-Collection Solution

FDA has approved Roche’s human papillomavirus (HPV) self-collection solution, which the company says is one of the first available in the U.S. A company [statement](https://www.roche.com/media/releases/med-cor-2024-05-15?ref=fdaweb.com) says the solution will expand access and screening options to help eliminate cervical cancer.

“In a healthcare setting,” the statement says, “an individual collects their own vaginal sample, which is sent to a laboratory for analysis with Roche’s cobas molecular instrument. Those who receive a positive HPV result would then continue their care with a healthcare provider.”
