# FDA, Others Holding Workshop on Bladder/Kidney Cancer Trials

FDA, National Cancer Institute and the Society of Urologic Oncology are holding a public workshop 11/28 to improve the conduct of adjuvant clinical trials in bladder cancer and kidney cancer by harmonizing definitions and management of disease recurrence. Currently, no standard definition of disease recurrence is used in these adjuvant trials, [according to the agency](https://www.fda.gov/Drugs/NewsEvents/ucm574531.htm?ref=fdaweb.com). “Standard practices would generate consistency and facilitate interpretation of trial results,” it says. The workshop will also discuss clinical trial and research designs, and define common goals and methods for adjuvant trials that may lead to a proposed guidance document.
