# FDA Phone Safety Review: No Adverse Health Effects

A new [FDA literature review](https://www.fda.gov/media/135043/download?ref=fdaweb.com) on cell phone radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure on human health has found “no quantifiable adverse health effects in humans caused by exposures at or under the current cell phone exposure limits.” The review looked at peer-reviewed in vivo and epidemiological studies published from 2008 to 2018 to assess any possible causal relationship between RFR exposure and any tumor formation.

While some studies suggest a possible link between “heavy” cell phone users and some tumors, there was no “consistent pattern that has emerged from these studies,” FDA says. The agency notes that the studies were also subject to flaws and inaccuracies. Based on the studies reviewed, FDA says there is a “lack of clear dose-response relationship, a lack of consistent findings or specificity, and a lack of biological mechanistic plausibility.”
