FDA Posts 1st Quarter Drug Safety Evaluations

FDA has posted the results of five drug safety evaluations completed between 10/1 and 12/31/15. For four of the five — Wyeth’s Duavee (conjugated estrogens/bazedoxifene) tablet, film-coated; Medicis’ Luzu (luliconazole) cream; zoledronic acid injection; and Iroko’s Zorvolex (diclofenac) capsule — no new safety issues were identified through the evaluations. FDA says it is continuing to evaluate the potential safety issue of weight gain identified in Takeda’s Brintellix (vorioxetine) tablet, film-coated, to determine if regulatory action is required.
