# FDA Pulls TG Therapeutics’ Ukoniq for Safety

FDA has withdrawn its approval of TG Therapeutics’ Ukoniq (umbralisib), indicated to treat two specific types of lymphoma, for safety reasons. An agency [drug safety communication](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-approval-lymphoma-medicine-ukoniq-umbralisib-withdrawn-due-safety-concerns?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdeliveryhttps://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-approval-lymphoma-medicine-ukoniq-umbralisib-withdrawn-due-safety-concerns?utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=govdelivery) says updated findings from the UNITY-CLL clinical trial continue to show a possible increased risk of death in patients receiving Ukoniq. “As a result,” the communication says, “we determined the risks of treatment with Ukoniq outweigh its benefits.”

FDA says the manufacturer announced on 4/15 that it was voluntarily withdrawing the drug from the market for the two approved lymphoma uses.
