FDA has qualified the MED Institute’s medical device development tool (MDDT) for virtual MRI safety evaluations to determine if MRI imaging is safe for patients with implanted medical devices. The institute [says](https://www.marketwatch.com/press-release/med-institute-obtained-fda-qualification-of-their-mddt-medical-device-development-tool-for-virtual-mri-safety-evaluations-2021-11-17?tesla=y&ref=fdaweb.com) its MDDT uses computational modeling and simulation to predict RF-induced heating of passive medical devices during MRI, for both 1.5 T and 3 T, with higher quality and reliability at a lower cost than physical testing.
