# FDA Raises Concerns with Vital Rx Sterile Drugs

FDA has issued a [safety alert](https://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/SafetyInformation/SafetyAlertsforHumanMedicalProducts/ucm570944.htm?ref=fdaweb.com) on sterile drug products that are produced and distributed nationwide by Vital Rx Inc. (dba Atlantic Pharmacy and Compounding, Pompano Beach, FL) due to lack of sterility assurance. During a recent inspection of Atlantic Pharmacy, agency investigators observed insanitary conditions, including poor sterile production practices, the alert says. “On 7/31, FDA recommended that Atlantic Pharmacy cease sterile production until appropriate corrective actions are implemented, and recall all non-expired drug products intended to be sterile,” the alert says. “The company has not yet initiated a recall.”
