# FDA Removes ‘Diversity’ Docs From Web Site

The Trump Administration’s rollback of government-wide diversity, equity and inclusion activities seems to have caught FDA in its net regarding several diversity-related initiatives and policies, including its high-profile Diversity Action Plan (DAP) draft guidance document, according to Politico’s *AgencyIQ*. The document has been removed from the agency’s Web site and so has information about the Oncology Center of Excellence’s Project Equity, and a draft guidance entitled "Evaluation of Sex-Specific and Gender-Specific Data in Medical Device Clinical Studies."

The diversity plan guidance was issued in June and it is intended to increase the enrollment of participants who are members of historically under-represented populations in clinical studies to help improve the strength and generalizability of the evidence for the intended use population. It described the format and content of the plans, including the timing and process for submitting such plans by application or notification type. The draft guidance also outlined the criteria and process the agency will use to evaluate a sponsor’s request not to submit a required Diversity Action Plan, also known as a waiver.
