# FDA Safety Alert on Laws PPE of Motion Gowns

FDA 8/28 issued an alert to healthcare facilities to stop using medical gowns, including surgical gowns, manufactured or sold by New York City-based Laws of Motion PPE.com until further notice because they may not provide their labeled level of protection, including fluid barrier protection. The agency’s [letter](https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/stop-using-gowns-including-surgical-gowns-laws-motion-ppe-letter-health-care-providers?utm%5Fcampaign=2020-08-28%20CDRH%20-%20Surgical%20Gowns%20LHCP%20-%20Corrected&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua) went to facility risk managers, procurement staff and healthcare providers, advising them of “serious concerns with the quality” of the company’s gowns. It said “FDA is assessing the extent of the concerns and is working with Laws of Motion PPE to understand and address the issue.”
