FDA Says Adderall is in Shortage

FDA says there is a shortage of the immediate-release formulation of amphetamine mixed salts, known primarily as Adderall or Adderall IR. The agency drug shortage Web site says one of the manufacturers of amphetamine mixed salts, Teva, is experiencing ongoing intermittent manufacturing delays. While other manufacturers continue to produce the drug, FDA says, there isn’t sufficient supply to meet U.S. demand.

FDA has posted on the Web site a list of current manufacturers and product strengths that remain available and says it will assist manufacturers with anything needed to resolve the shortage.
