FDA Seeking Diabetes DHT Info

CDRH is soliciting public comment on a series of topics and questions about how digital health technologies (DHTs), including those enabled by artificial intelligence/machine learning, may help with the early detection of risk factors for Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, and Type 2 undiagnosed diabetes. An online post says the Center’s questions fall under these categories: community engagement and consortia efforts, science/innovation, outcomes, and clinical integration and implementation.

CDRH says it is “uniquely positioned to advance the development of high-quality, safe, and effective medical devices, including DHTs, which can provide significant improvements in healthcare, quality of life, and wellness to diverse populations.”
