FDA Sets Generic Drug Research Workshop

FDA says it will hold a 5/24 public workshop to provide an overview of the current status of the regulatory science initiatives for generic drugs and to provide an opportunity for public input on research priorities in those topic areas. The workshop announcement says the agency is seeking input from a variety of stakeholders including industry, academia, patient advocates, professional societies, and other interested parties as it fulfills a commitment under GDUFA reauthorization to develop an annual list of regulatory science initiatives specific to generic drugs.

The agency says it will take the information received at the workshop into consideration in developing the FY 2019 regulatory science plan.

The notice contains information on submitting requests to make oral presentations and registering for the workshop.
