# FDA Updates List of Deemed BLAs

FDA has updated the list of approved NDAs for biological products that will be deemed to be BLAs on 3/23\. An agency updated [notice](https://www.fda.gov/media/119229/download?utm%5Fcampaign=SBIA%3A%20Updates%20to%20the%20Preliminary%20List%20of%20Approved%20NDAs%20for%20Biological&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua) says the list of products that will be deemed to be BLAs was prepared to enhance transparency and facilitate planning for the 3/23 transition.

The update reflects a change to the definition of “biological product” made by the 12/30/19 Further Consolidated Appropriations Act to include chemically synthesized polypeptides in the statutory category of protein.
