FDA Updates Regulatory Science Device Catalog

FDA has updated the Catalog of Regulatory Science Tools to Help Assess New Medical Devices by adding four new tools and updating nine tools. The catalog provides a peer-reviewed resource for medical device companies to use where standards and qualified medical device development tools (MDDTs) do not yet exist, FDA says. The tools don’t replace FDA-recognized standards or MDDTs.

The catalog collates a variety of regulatory science tools that the CDRH Office of Science and Engineering Labs developed and plans to expand as new tools become available, the agency says.
