FDA Warns 2 Firms Selling Supplements with Tianeptine

FDA has issued Warning Letters to two companies it says are illegally marketing products labeled as dietary supplements that contain tianeptine, a chemical compound that companies illegally claim treats opioid use disorder, pain and anxiety, and other claims the agency says are unproven and unlawful. “These actions follow reports to FDA of serious adverse events associated with use of products containing tianeptine,” an agency media release says.

The Warning Letters request responses from Jack B Goods Outlet Store and MA Labs and state that failure to correct the violations could result in legal action including seizure and injunction.
