FDA Yumanity Parkinson’s Trial Hold

FDA has placed a partial clinical hold on multi-dose clinical trials of Yumanity Therapeutics’ YTX-7739 that is being developed to treat Parkinson’s disease. The company says the agency has not halted all clinical programming and is permitting Yumanity to proceed with its planned single-dose clinical trial. “The partial clinical hold suspends initiation of multiple-dose clinical trials in the U.S. until FDA’s questions have been answered,” the company says.

Yumanity says YTX-7739 is its proprietary lead small molecule investigational therapy designed to penetrate the blood-brain barrier and inhibit the activity of a novel target, stearoyl-CoA desaturase.
