FDA has released a [final guidance ](https://www.fda.gov/media/99084/download?ref=fdaweb.com)entitled *Unique Device Identification System: Form and Content of the Unique Device Identifier (UDI)*. The document is intended to assist labelers and FDA-accredited issuing agencies in complying with UDI labeling requirements. It describes requirements on UDI form and content to help ensure that the UDIs developed meet the objectives of the Unique Device Identification System final rule.
