FlowAid Medical Tech 510(k) Cleared for Muscle Stimulator

FDA has cleared a FlowAid Medical Technologies 510(k) for its FA100 SCCD (Sequential Continuous Contraction Device) and its use for increasing local blood circulation, post-surgical stimulation of calf muscles to prevent venous thrombosis, and preventing disuse atrophy and edema reduction. The small, lightweight, portable, and handheld four-channel electrical muscle stimulator provides low-frequency stimulation in a proprietary sequential pattern. It operates without any external pressure to the leg, which allows complete mobility and does not interfere with daily activities, the company says.
