Formal Dispute Resolution Program Moved in CDER

CDER director Janet Woodcock says management of the Center’s formal dispute resolution (FDR) program is being transitioned from the immediate office of the Office of New Drugs to the Office of Executive Programs. “This transition allows Center-level management of the FDR program, which is not only used by the Office of New Drugs but also by the Office of Generic Drugs,” she writes in a staff memo. Woodcock says that former CDRH deputy ombudsman Melissa Sage will become FDA program manager of the Office of Executive Programs.

Woodcock defines FDR as a “pathway within CDER that sponsors of user fee products may use to seek resolution of issues related to scientific or medical disputes that could not be resolved at the division level.”
