# Former FDA Staff Chief Joins Hogan Lowells

Former FDA chief of staff **Elizabeth Jungman** has joined law firm Hogan Lovells as a partner in its pharmaceuticals and biotechnology practice in the Washington, D.C. office.

As chief of staff under Biden Administration commissioner **Robert Califf**, Jungman oversaw the day-to-day management of the agency and provided strategic counsel to agency leadership. She previously served as CDER Office of Regulatory Policy director, where she advised senior agency officials on drug policy development, implementation, and long-range strategic goals. She has also held senior roles at the Pew Charitable Trusts and the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, where she was a key architect of the FDA Safety and Innovation Act of 2012, among other pieces of legislation.

Jungman earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard, a law degree from Georgetown University, and a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins.
