# FTC Bars False Telomerase Activation Sciences Claims

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says Telomerase Activation Sciences and its CEO have agreed to stop making false and unsupported claims about its two anti-aging products. FTC [said](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2018/02/new-york-based-supplement-seller-barred-false-unsupported-health?ref=fdaweb.com) the company lacked the scientific evidence to support claims that its capsules, powders, and creams could provide a broad range of anti-aging and other benefits.

According to the FTC complaint, the company said that both its TA-65MD and TA-65 for Skin reversed aging and that TA-65MD prevented and repaired DNA damage, restored aging immune systems, increased bone density, reversed the effects of aging skin and eyes, and prevented or reduced the risk of cancer. The company also allegedly misrepresented that TA-65 for Skin decreased the time needed for skin to recover after medical procedures.

The commission says the proposed settlement order prohibits the company from making any representation about the health benefits, performance, efficacy, safety, or side effects of any covered product, prohibits it from misrepresenting that any covered product is clinically proven to reverse human aging, prevent or repair DNA damage, restore aging immune systems, or increase bone density, or misrepresenting that such studies or evidence exist.
