# FTC Should Look Into Par Vasostrict Petition: FDA

In denying a Par Sterile Products 11/8 petition involving an Eagle Pharmaceuticals ANDA for vasopressin citing Vasostrict as the reference-listed drug, FDA says it will refer the matter to the Federal Trade Commission to investigate a potential anti-competitive business practice. FDA [says](https://downloads.regulations.gov/FDA-2021-P-1211-0009/attachment%5F1.pdf?ref=fdaweb.com) that while it denied the petition for lack of evidence to support claims against Eagle, it also would have grounds to deny the petition “because it appears to have been submitted with the primary purpose of delaying approval of Eagle’s ANDA and fails to raise valid scientific or regulatory issues.”
