# FY 2018 OGD Research Grants

The CDER Office of Generic Drugs (OGD) FY 2018 GDUFA Science and Research Report shows that during FY 2018, the first year of GDUFA 2, the OGD Office of Research and Standards awarded 13 new research contracts and 11 grants for innovative research projects on generics. The [report](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/generic-drugs/office-generic-drugs-fy-2018-gdufa-science-and-research-report?utm%5Fcampaign=SBIA%3A%20Office%20of%20Generic%20Drugs%20Fiscal%20Year%202018%20GDUFA%20Science%20and%20Research%20Report&utm%5Fmedium=email&utm%5Fsource=Eloqua) says that awards were made in the FY 2018 science priorities: complex active ingredients, formulations, or dosage forms; complex routes of delivery; complex drug-device combination products; and tools and methodologies for bioequivalence and substitutability evaluation.

OGD says it also is heavily engaged in research with other FDA offices and laboratories and the collaborations “have resulted in significant accomplishments in developing the scientific basis supporting new and revised guidances for industry and in refining methods for the scientific evaluation of equivalence for generic drug products.”
