Garmendia Permanently Debarred Over Trial Fraud

Federal Register notice: FDA is denying a request for a hearing submitted by Bernardo Garmendia, and is issuing an order permanently debarring him from providing services in any capacity to a person that has an approved or pending drug product application. The actions are based on Garmendia’s 6/2023 guilty plea to wire fraud charges as co-owner of AMB Research when it entered into a clinical trial agreement to lead a pharmaceutical company’s clinical trial designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug intended to treat Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD clinical trial).
