GDUFA ANDA Amendment Submissions

FDA has published a guidance, ANDA Submissions—Amendments to Abbreviated New Drug Applications Under GDUFA, explaining to applicants how the assessment goals established in the GDUFA 3 agreement apply to amendments to either ANDAs or prior approval supplements submitted to FDA under section 505(j) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The document describes amendment classifications and categories and explains how amendment submissions may affect an application’s assessment goal dates. It supersedes a 7/2018 guidance.

The guidance contains an Introduction, Background, Categories of GDUFA Submissions, Assessment Goals, Application of Assessment Goals, Submission and Receipt of Amendments, Requests for Reconsideration of Major Amendment Classification Status, and an Appendix.
