GE Imaging Machines Can Be Hacked: Report

Services firm CyberMDX says that GE medical imaging devices have a cybersecurity vulnerability that potentially puts the operation of the systems and the health data contained on them at risk. MedTech Dive reports in an online post that the vulnerability also can affect certain workstations and imaging devices used in surgery. CyberMDX reported its finding to GE in May. GE has said it is not aware of any unauthorized access to data or cyber incidents in a clinical situation in which the potential vulnerability has been exploited by hackers. A spokesperson said the company conducted a risk assessment and concluded there is no patient safety concern, MedTech Dive says.
