Getinge 510(k) for Software Update to Ventilators

FDA has cleared a Getinge 510(k) for a new software version for the Servo-u and Servo-n mechanical ventilator platform. The software release includes the addition of Servo Compass and High Flow therapy as well as additional advancements for ventilation therapy support, according to the company.

The software supports therapies compliant with recognized acute respiratory distress syndrome protocols and goal-directed lung protective ventilation for all patient categories with the inclusion of measurement of driving pressure, Getinge says. The new features also include volume control with decelerating flow, enhanced alarm management, and streamlined setup for ventilation modes, it says.
