Getinge USA Anesthesia System Recall is Class 1

FDA says the 5/2 recall by Getinge USA of its Flow-c and Flow-e anesthesia systems due to cracked or broken suction system power switches is Class 1. The company recalled 64 units in the U.S.

An FDA notice says the systems are intended to provide inhalation anesthesia and control the ventilation of patients who cannot breathe. The notice says the company received 11 complaints about the issue and that no injuries or deaths were associated with using the device.
