# Gilead Bags Priority Review Voucher from Sarepta for $125 Million

Sarepta Therapeutics has entered into an agreement to sell to Gilead its FDA Rare Pediatric Disease Priority Review Voucher (PRV) for $125 million. Sarepta was awarded the PRV when it gained approval last year for its Duchenne muscular dystrophy drug Exondys 51\. The voucher was awarded under a provision that encourages development of new drugs and biologics for rare pediatric diseases. “The sale of the PRV provides an important source of non-dilutive capital to support the rapid advancement of our follow on exon skipping candidates and next generation RNA targeted antisense platform,” Sarepta says. With the passage of the 21st Century Cures Act, the PRV program has been extended through 9/2020.
