# Gilead Stops 5 Trials Involving Zydelig After Deaths

Last week, the [agency said](https://www.fdaweb.com/fda-safety-review-on-gileads-zydelig-after-triall-deaths/) it was evaluating the safety of the drug, which it approved in 2014 for treating patients with three types of blood cancers, after receiving reports of deaths in clinical trials involving the drug. “The safety of patients is a top priority and the FDA will communicate new safety-related information on Zydelig as it becomes available,” an agency spokeswoman told ***FDA Webview*** 3/11.
