Globus Medical Excelsius Imager Cleared

FDA has cleared a Globus Medical 510(k) for the Excelsius3D, an intraoperative three-in-one imaging system. The device consolidates 360-degree cone-beam computerized tomography, fluoroscopy, and high-resolution digital radiography into one unified application. It is indicated for use when a physician benefits from 2D and 3D information on anatomic structures and high-contrast objects with high x-ray attenuation such as bony anatomy and metallic objects, Globus says. Excelsius3D images are compatible with image guided systems such as ExcelsiusGPS.
