Gottlieb Selects 2 More for his Leadership Team

FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb has appointed CDRH deputy Center director for policy Lauren Silvis as his chief of staff. She had been serving as acting chief of staff since April. Prior to joining FDA in 2015, she was a partner at Sidley Austin. She previously practiced at Covington & Burling.

In a separate move, Sidley Austin partner Rebecca Wood has been appointed chief counsel. She had been at Sidley since 2000 and has worked on healthcare-related issues during much of her career. Liz Dickinson, who has served as chief counsel since 2011, will remain in the office in a demoted capacity as senior deputy.
