Government Drug Price Listening Sessions

The Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice Antitrust Division are scheduling three live-streamed listening sessions on aspects of the push to lower the cost of prescription drugs for Americans. “The listening sessions will focus on improving the affordability of pharmaceuticals by increasing generic and biosimilar availability and promoting competition through drug formularies and benefits,” a notice says.

The scheduled sessions are:

• 6/30, 2 pm ET – Anticompetitive Conduct by Pharmaceutical Companies Impeding Generic or Biosimilar Competition
• 7/24, 2 pm ET – Formulary and Benefit Practices and Regulatory Abuse Impacting Drug Competition
• 8/4, 2 pm ET – Turning Insights Into Action to Reduce Drug Prices

Each session will feature remarks by practitioners and scholars, the notice says, and will be live-streamed on the FTC and Justice Department Web sites, with videos and transcripts posted after each event.
