Group Backs Circulating Tumor DNA as Early Endpoint

Friends of Cancer Research says it recently published two manuscripts supporting the use of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) as an early endpoint for regulatory decision-making. In a media release (contains links to the articles), the advocacy group says the manuscripts “show that on-treatment reductions in ctDNA levels are associated with improved overall survival and/or progression-free survival.”

The release says the publications highlight the robustness of ctDNA dynamics as a predictive biomarker across solid tumors and treatment modalities and support the potential use of on-treatment ctDNA reductions as an early endpoint in clinical trials.
