Guidance on Temp Policies for Drug Compounding

Federal Register notice: FDA is making available a final guidance entitled “Temporary Policies for Compounding Certain Parenteral Drug Products.” HHS has determined that public health emergencies now exist in the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton based on reports from hospitals and health systems that they have experienced difficulties obtaining certain intravenous solutions. The document describes the agency’s regulatory and enforcement priorities regarding the compounding of certain parenteral drug products by outsourcing facilities and by state-licensed pharmacies and federal facilities that are not registered with FDA as outsourcing facilities.
