# Guide on Compounding Drugs Affected by Hurricanes

FDA has released an immediately-in-effect guidance titled "[*Temporary Policies for Compounding Certain Parenteral Drug Products*](https://www.fda.gov/regulatory-information/search-fda-guidance-documents/temporary-policies-compounding-certain-parenteral-drug-products?ref=fdaweb.com)". HHS has determined that public health emergencies (PHEs) exist as a result of manufacturing and supply disruptions caused by hurricanes Helene and Milton. This guidance describes FDA’s regulatory and enforcement priorities regarding the compounding of certain parenteral drug products by outsourcing facilities and by state-licensed pharmacies during the ongoing emergencies. Additionally, FDA notes that it is working to temporarily import some products in shortage to help meet patient needs.
