Guide on Contraceptive Drug Interaction Studies

Federal Register notice: FDA is making available a final guidance entitled “Clinical Drug Interaction Studies With Combined Oral Contraceptives.” The document is intended to help drug sponsors evaluate whether they need drug-drug interaction studies with combined oral contraceptives (COCs). It also covers the design of such studies, how to communicate study results, and risk mitigation strategies to address potential risks associated with increased or decreased exposure of COCs in labeling.
