# Guide on Device Export Certifications

FDA has reissued a [guidance document](https://www.fda.gov/media/115432/download?ref=fdaweb.com) entitled “Process to Request a Review of FDA’s Decision Not to Issue Certain Export Certificates for Devices” that includes minor updates to align with the recent Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023\. The document describes the information that the agency will provide to a person whose request for a “Certificate to Foreign Government” for a device is denied, and the process for seeking a review of the denial decision. The agency says export certifications provide information about a product and an establishment’s regulatory or marketing status based on available information at the time of issuance.
