# Guide on Mitigating Primate Supply Contraints

FDA has posted a [final guidance](https://www.fda.gov/media/155950/download?ref=fdaweb.com) entitled “Nonclinical Considerations for Mitigating Nonhuman Primate Supply Constraints Arising from the Covid-19 Pandemic.” The document is intended to help sponsors mitigate the challenges related to the constrained supply of nonhuman primates available for conducting nonclinical toxicity assessments. It is intended to remain in effect for the duration of the Covid-19 public health emergency. After the health emergency ends, FDA intends to revise and replace the guidance with any appropriate changes based on comments received and the agency’s experience with implementation.
