# Haemonetics Recalls 10 Lots of Leukotrap RC System

Haemonetics has recalled 10 lots of their Leukotrap RC System with RC2D Filter, intended for collecting whole blood and preparation of red blood cells and plasma or red blood cells, plasma, and platelets with pre-storage leukocyte reduction of red blood cells. Haemonetics has received reports of higher than expected residual white blood cell counts associated with the affected lots, according to a recall notice. The company has identified that this issue arises from a manufacturing assembly issue related to a single RC2D filter lot. “Use of these lots may result in a higher than expected level of leukocytes in transfused blood,” the notice says.
