Hahn Joins Flagship Pioneering

Former FDA commissioner Stephen Hahn has joined Flagship Pioneering as chief medical officer of its preemptive medicine and health security initiative. Hahn resigned from FDA in January as the new administration took power. Prior to FDA, he was the Chief Medical Executive at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Flagship Pioneering is a venture capital group that has helped start 100 scientific ventures, including Covid-19 vaccine developer Moderna. Flagship and Moderna are headquartered near each other in Cambridge, MA, and Flagship CEO Noubar Afeyan serves as chairman of Moderna and Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel serves as a Flagship special partner, according to the Washington Post.
