A CMI Media survey of 127 doctors across 25 specialties looked at what information providers find most engaging and how they most prefer to receive it. The online [report](https://www.cmimedia.com/insights/povs/reprints-still-valued-by-hcps?%5Fcldee=ZGF2aWRAZmRhd2ViLmNvbQ%3d%3d&recipientid=contact-223928a01483e51180f13863bb2e0548-242eb672c03e4e12b086d42a386c7d53&esid=4c288331-13b9-e911-a986-000d3a11fc57&ref=fdaweb.com) says that over 99% of healthcare providers who responded say they find medical reprints useful. One of the most effective tools in influencing provider behavior is clinical trial data, the report says. Survey results also concluded that clinical content is highly important to healthcare providers for keeping abreast of product and medical developments.

The researchers found that significantly more providers prefer to read printed journals compared to digital copies. “Because of this split,” they say, “marketers need to understand the preferences of the individual physicians on their target list and deliver content in the channel most used by those audiences.”

The paper concludes that the research has confirmed that the need for current medical news and clinical information has intensified as the media landscape has grown exponentially. “Healthcare providers are comfortable working with information and data available in many media channels,” it says, “and are demanding information to be accessible when they want it, whether online or in print, at the office or at home.”
