Hearing to Grill FDA Center Directors

The House Energy and Commerce Committee has announced a 5/22 hearing titled “Check Up: Examining FDA Regulation of Drugs, Biologics, and Devices,” which will hear testimony from CDER director Patrizia Cavazzoni, CBER director Peter Marks, and CDRH director Jeff Shuren.

“Given the increased funding provided in the most recent user fee reauthorization, it’s important that we engage regularly with key FDA officials to better understand what’s working well at the FDA and what challenges persist,” a committee notice says. “Continuing to rebuild public trust in government health agencies is critical and will require more transparency from agencies like the FDA.”

The online hearing begins at 10:30 AM and will be held in the Rayburn House Office Building.
