Hold Lifted on Celyad Oncology CAR T Therapy

FDA has lifted a clinical hold on Celyad Oncology’s CYAD-101-002 (KEYNOTE-B79) Phase 1b trial after the company modified the eligibility criteria for the trial. In March, the company said the agency issued the hold due to insufficient information to assess the risk to study subjects. At the time, the company said it was voluntarily pausing the trial to investigate reports of two fatalities in the study. The trial is designed to evaluate the CAR T cell investigational therapy with Merck’s anti-PD-1 therapy Keytruda (pembrolizumab) in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer with microsatellite stable/mismatch-repair proficient disease.
