The Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a 3/22 hearing on “Examining FDA’s Prescription Drug User Fee Program.” Subcommittee chairman **Michael Burgess** (R-TX) [says](https://energycommerce.house.gov/news-center/press-releases/hearing-subhealth-continue-user-fee-hearings-examining-pdufa?ref=fdaweb.com) the hearing “will examine how this important user fee program has been implemented since it was reauthorized in 2012 as part of the FDA Safety and Innovation Act. I am encouraged to see that the proposed agreement between FDA and industry builds upon several key provisions in the 21st Century Cures Act and will further streamline the development and review of innovative new drugs for patients.”
