# House Committee Wants Kid Covid Vaccine Briefing

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis is asking FDA for a briefing on the status of coronavirus vaccine candidates for young children. A 4/25 [letter](https://coronavirus.house.gov/news/press-releases/clyburn-letter-fda-authorization-vaccine-children?ref=fdaweb.com) says “millions of young children still remain unprotected because no vaccine has yet been authorized for children under five.”

The select subcommittee specifically asks if the agency is considering postponing a decision on whether to authorize Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine until early summer so it can be evaluated and potentially authorized at the same time as Pfizer’s vaccine. It asks to be briefed on the scientific basis and rationale for any such delay.
