# House Covid Committee Wants Info from Hahn

The House Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis is asking former FDA commissioner **Stephen Hahn** for information relating to possible political interference from the Trump administration in the pandemic response. In an 11/22 [letter](https://context-cdn.washingtonpost.com/notes/prod/default/documents/603fff19-0a86-4678-8148-56b56ea06740/note/909cd9c2-0ae5-491d-8cac-6ad5a27dc8c2.?ref=fdaweb.com#page=1), the committee asks Hahn for all documents and communications in his possession, custody, or control related to his involvement in the federal government’s response to the coronavirus, including his duties at FDA and as a member of the White House Coronavirua Task Force. Hahn was also asked to sit for a transcribed 12/13 interview.

The letter says the committee has determined that the Trump administration “engaged in a persistent pattern of political interference in the pandemic response and took actions that allowed the virus to spread in an attempt to advance former President Trump’s electoral prospects.”

Issues the committee tells Hahn it is looking at are: 

- Trump administration officials pressuring FDA to authorize hydroxychloroquine and convalescent plasma therapy;
- the Trump administration injecting politics into FDA authorization of coronavirus vaccines; and
- top Trump administration officials embracing a “dangerous herd immunity strategy.”
