Hunan Norchem Pharmaceutical Has CGMP Issues

A 7/24-7/28/18 FDA inspection at Hunan Norchem Pharmaceutical Co., Hunan, China, found significant deviations from current good manufacturing practices (CGMP) for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) , according to a 1/9 Warning Letter. Specific deviations were:

· failing to prepare and use production and control records for each intermediate and API batch; and
failing to maintain complete data derived from all laboratory tests conducted to ensure that API and intermediates comply with established specifications and standards.

The letter says the firm was placed on an import alert 10/18/17. Hunan was told to respond with a list of specific actions taken since the inspection to correct the deviations and prevent their recurrence, with a timetable for completion.
